General Information:

Creating glamorous and erotic portraits which capture a woman’s unique beauty is the artistic goal of graphite artist Vincent Wolff.

Having been influenced by Renaissance masters and contemporary nude artists, Vincent’s unique style is to craft soft sensual lines, along with subtle shading, to create dramatic contrasts of light and dark, which accentuate the natural curves of the female body. This combination produces a three-dimensional form that emerges from its two dimensional background.

Working only from photographic reference, Vincent’s vision captures the individual beauty of the model, as if she were sitting in front of him.
The intricate detailing of the woman’s features with graphite pencil help bring life to the black and white drawing. He pays particular attention to the subject’s eyes and facial expression, because they connect the viewer to the art.

Although he originally planned to make commercial illustration his career, Vincent always preferred to draw the female nude figure. While studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he was inspired by the many nudes in the museum’s collection, and his art eventually took a different direction.

His motivation comes from the images of the models and photographers with whom he networks—a facial expression, or the way the light and shadows highlight her curves. “Something will catch my eye, and I feel compelled to draw it. That’s what drives me, that’s my passion.”
